Powered or unpowered? That's the whole decision
Most people overthink asset tracking. It comes down to one thing: does the asset have a constant power source? A running tractor, a work van, a car, or a machine on a 12/24V feed can carry a hardwired tracker that never needs charging. A dropped trailer, a shipping container, a roll-off dumpster, an agricultural implement, a generator sitting in a yard, or a boat on a mooring can't — so it needs a self-powered, wireless tracker that carries its own battery.
