Hardware evaluation

GPS Asset Tracker Private Pilot

TruckerPro is assessing GPS hardware for trucks, trailers, vans, equipment, containers, and other authorized fleet assets. This page describes a pilot direction, not a product available for purchase.

Current status: The current candidates are the hardwired Teltonika FTM880-Q2AB0 (TP056) and battery-operated Teltonika TAT141-Q3IB0 (TP057). TruckerPro has not launched the data-ingestion service, customer application, carrier plan, or commercial offering.

Why this hardware is being considered

The hardware choice depends on whether the asset has dependable power and how often it needs to report. TruckerPro is evaluating both candidates; it has not launched device ingestion, a customer map, alerts, or reports.

Any installation must be authorized by the asset owner and comply with applicable privacy, employment, vehicle, and surveillance laws. A future TruckerPro service would be asset tracking—not an ELD, Hours-of-Service system, safety monitor, or emergency service.

What the pilot needs to prove

  • Reliable, secure device provisioning and ingestion of vendor telemetry.
  • Useful reporting intervals and realistic battery or backup-power behavior.
  • Carrier and roaming coverage in the actual operating areas of pilot participants.
  • Maps, movement alerts, and summaries that are accurate enough for the intended workflow.
  • Clear privacy, retention, support, installation, warranty, and commercial terms.

Questions

Can I order a TruckerPro GPS tracker now?

No. TruckerPro GPS is a private hardware evaluation and software-development effort. The interest form is not an order or quote request.

Is the TruckerPro tracking platform live?

No. Device ingestion, customer maps, geofences, alerts, mileage reports, and TruckerPro TMS integration still need to be built and validated.

Where will the trackers work?

Both candidates support LTE-M; the TAT141 candidate also supports NB-IoT. TruckerPro has not selected carrier service or established geographic coverage. Coverage must be tested during the pilot.

What will the service cost?

Pricing, service terms, warranty, support, and availability have not been finalized. Selected pilot participants will receive written terms before committing.
